| Uses | FMS-like tyrosine kinase 3 ligand (Flt3l), a cytokine, is also termed as Flk2/CD135. It is a hematopoietic growth factor. Recombinant murine Flt3-ligand is a soluble 18.6 kDa protein consisting of 163 amino acid residues. | | Biological Activity | Flt3l (FMS-like tyrosine kinase 3 ligand) acts as a stimulant of hematopoietic progenitor cell proliferation. It facilitates the commitment of lymphoid lineage, and aids in dendritic cell (DC) development. It is involved in myoblast differentiation, and drives skeletal muscle regeneration. It acts on p120RasGAP (r at sarcoma GTPase activating protein) and suppresses Erk (extracellular signal-regulated kinase) signaling, which in turn promotes myogenesis. In lymphoid tissues, it modulates DC homeostasis, which is facilitated by steady state as well as proliferative T-cells.
