| Uses | 2-Aminothiazole-4-carboxamide is a useful intermediate for organic synthesis and other chemical processes. | | Synthesis | General procedure for the synthesis of 2-aminothiazole-4-carboxylic acid from ethyl 2-aminothiazole-4-carboxylate: 3.0 g of ethyl 2-aminothiazole-4-carboxylate was dissolved in 100 mL of ammonia, and the reaction was stirred for 2 hours at room temperature. Upon completion of the reaction, the reaction solution was concentrated to dryness and left to precipitate needle-like crystals. The crystals were collected by filtration and washed several times with cold water to remove impurities.
