found in nature and has a fresh, fruity–woody odor. It is prepared by acetylation
of ()-nopol with acetic anhydride. ()-Nopol is obtained from ()--pinene and
paraformaldehyde in a Prins reaction.
Nopyl acetate is used in perfumes for soaps and household products. |
