| | 2-Phenylethylamine hydrochloride Usage And Synthesis |
| Description | 2-Phenethylamine is a natural monoamine alkaloid that acts as neuromodulator in the central nervous system. It stimulates the release of norepinephrine and dopamine and is metabolized by monoamine oxidases as well as other enzymes. This product is intended for forensic and research applications. | | Chemical Properties | White to Light yellow powder to crystal. soluble in water, alcohol, ether. | | Uses | 2-Phenylethylamine hydrochloride is the hydrochloride salt form of 2-Phenylethylamine, which is an biogenic aromatic amine acting as a monoaminergic neuromodulator or a neurotransmitter in the human central nervous system. It is used to CNS stimulant. | | Preparation | In a nitrogen environment, add the aliphatic nitro derivatives (0.6 mmol), pinacol borane (3.6 mmol, 6.0 equiv), tetrahydrofuran (2 mL), triethylboron (5 mol%), and potassium tert-butoxide (5 mol %) into a 10 mL sealed tube and then place it in a 100 oil bath with heating and stirring for 24 hours. At the end of the reaction, add 2mL of 1M hydrochloric acid aqueous solution to the reaction solution and stir at room temperature for 6 h. Finally, 2-Phenylethylamine hydrochloride is obtained by filtration.
