Chemical PropertiesYellowish brown powder. Soluble in ethanol, acetone and benzene. In concentrated sulfuric acid is dark yellow light brown solution, after dilution produces yellow precipitate. When stained with iron and copper ions, no significant change in color and light. Melting point 157℃, maximum absorption wavelength (λmax) 418nm.
UsesDisperse Yellow 42 is used in preparation of environment-friendly disperse dye compound for dyeing and printing of fabrics.
