To a solution of 4-(bromomethyl)-1-fluoro-2-nitrobenzene (1 g, 4.27 mmol) in acetonitrile (5 mL) was added tetraethylammonium cyanide (0.801 g, 5.13 mmol). The reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 4 h. The reaction solution was dark green in color. After completion of the reaction, the solvent was removed by rotary evaporator under reduced pressure. The crude product was purified by fast column chromatography to afford 34A (light yellow oil, 617 mg, 3.43 mmol, 80% yield).LC-MS analysis: calculated value of C8H5F2O2 was 180.03, no parent ion was observed, retention time (Tr) = 0.74 min (Method B). | | References | [1] Patent: WO2014/150646, 2014, A1.
