VERNOLATE Usage And Synthesis
Chemical PropertiesPure product is a transparent liquid with aromatic gas palm; original drug is yellow-brown transparent oily liquid, slightly irritating odor. b.p. 149 ~ 150 ℃ / 4 × 103Pa, flash point > 96 ℃, vapor pressure 1.386Pa (25 ℃), relative density 0.954 (20 ℃), refractive index n20D1.4736. can be miscible with the general organic solvents, at 20 ℃ in water Solubility 90mg/L in water at 20℃.
UsesVernolate is used as pesticide.
UsesHerbicide.
DefinitionChEBI: S-propyl dipropylcarbamothioate is a tertiary amine.
Agricultural UsesHerbicide: Vernolate is a selective herbicide used to control a variety of weeds as their seeds germinate. These weeds include annual broadleaf weeds, annual grasses, perennial grasses, nut sedges and seedling Johnson grass. Agricultural crop use sites include soybeans, peanuts, groundnuts, soya beans, maize, tobacco, and sweet potatoes. A U.S. EPA restricted Use Pesticide (RUP) as dipropylthiocarbamic acid-S-propyl ester. Not currently registered for use in the U.S. Not approved for use in EU countries . There are more than 15 global suppliers .
Trade nameR-1607®; REWARD®[C]; SURPASS®[C]; SURPASS®-E[C]; VERNAM®[C]; VERNAM®-E[C]; VERNAM®-G[C]; VOMZLATE®
Biological ActivityVernol at has been shown to inhibit aldehyde dehydrogenase (ALDH) in vivo . It is genotoxic by causing chromosomal changes such as chromatid exchanges and chromosomal aberrations in vitro .
Mechanism of actionSelective, inhibition of lipid synthesis
SynthesisPBS-co-PLA carrier dissolved in dichloromethane, to be completely dissolved, add the herbicide fierce drug, dissolved oil phase; (3) water phase preparation: according to the mass ratio of oil phase: water phase = 1:5-7 amount of deionized water, add emulsifier dispersing agent, dissolved water phase; (4) microcapsule preparation: add the oil phase to the water phase to get the oil and water emulsion, add antifoam, curing to form a microcapsule suspension, washing to remove the top of the drying of the finished product. The product is washed and dried. This method is simple and environmentally friendly. The microcapsule obtained is in good shape, the encapsulation rate is 78%, the drug loading capacity is 50%, the effective release period is 30 days, the drug release capacity is 94%, which is the ideal pesticide slow-release agent.
