ANTI-NERVE GROWTH FACTOR RECEPTOR Usage And Synthesis
UsesAll Prestige Antibodies Powered by Atlas Antibodies are developed and validated by the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) project (www.proteinatlas.org)and as a result, are supported by the most extensive characterization in the industry.

The Human Protein Atlas project can be subdivided into three efforts: Human Tissue Atlas, Cancer Atlas, and Human Cell Atlas. The antibodies that have been generated in support of the Tissue and Cancer Atlas projects have been tested by immunohistochemistry against hundreds of normal and disease tissues and through the recent efforts of the Human Cell Atlas project, many have been characterized by immunofluorescence to map the human proteome not only at the tissue level but now at the subcellular level. These images and the collection of this vast data set can be viewed on the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) site by clicking on the Image Gallery link. General DescriptionNGFR (nerve growth factor receptor) is a cell surface transmembrane glycoprotein. It belongs to the low-affinity neurotrophin receptor and tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily. It is expressed on the surface of glial fibrillary acidic protein δ (GFAPδ) cells of the human brain. In addition to the brain, it is also expressed in liver, lung, and muscle cells.
Biochem/physiol ActionsNGFR (nerve growth factor receptor) plays a crucial role in the neuronal survival, differentiation and development of neurons in adult brain. It has been reported that the membrane-spanning region and cytoplasmic domain of NGFR plays an essential role in signal transduction during neuronal differentiation. In CNS and peripheral tissues, NGFR acts as a clock gene and its activity is modulated by helix-loop-helix transcription factors: CLOCK and BMAL1.
