| [1-(Ethoxycarbonyl)ethyl]triphenylphosphonium bromide Usage And Synthesis |
Chemical Properties | White to off-white powder | Uses | suzuki reaction | Uses | 1-Ethoxycarbonylethyl)triphenylphosphonium bromide is an important raw material and intermediate used in organic Synthesis, pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals and dyestuff. It is widely used as an organophosphine catalyst. | Synthesis | 1.0 g of triphenylphosphine was dissolved in 15 mL of ethyl acetate and 0.55 mL of ethyl 2-bromopropionate was added to this solution. The reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 24 hours. Upon completion of the reaction, the bulk of the resulting white solid product was collected by diafiltration. The solids were washed with ethyl acetate to give a final 1.35 g of white solid product ethoxycarbonyl ethyltriphenylphosphonium bromide in 80.5% yield. | References | [1] European Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2016, vol. 2016, # 12, p. 2110 - 2114 [2] Chemistry - A European Journal, 2015, vol. 21, # 20, p. 7408 - 7412 [3] Tetrahedron, 2010, vol. 66, # 26, p. 4745 - 4759 [4] Journal of Organic Chemistry, 1984, vol. 49, # 22, p. 4293 - 4295 [5] Patent: CN103864753, 2016, B.
