General procedure for the synthesis of 2-morpholin-4-aminopyridine from morpholine and 2-chloro-4-aminopyridine: 2-chloro-4-aminopyridine (5.0 g, 38.9 mmol) was suspended in aminomethanol (13 mL) and heated in a microwave reactor for 1 hr at 200 °C. Upon completion of the reaction, the mixture was cooled to room temperature and a precipitate was observed to be generated. Ether (45 mL) was added to the mixture, stirred for 10 minutes and filtered. The filter cake was washed with ether and dried to give the target product 2-morpholin-4-amine pyridine (6.61 g, 95% yield).
