USE:

Minoxidil is a clinically used oral drug for lowering blood pressure. It is also known as longamidine, piperidine diamine, vasopressin, and meloxidine. It is a potassium channel opener, which can directly relax vascular smooth muscle and is powerful. The small arterial expansion effect of the sclerotherapy can reduce peripheral resistance, vasodilatation, and blood pressure, without affecting the volume of blood vessels, so it can promote venous return. At the same time, due to reflex regulation and positive frequency effects, cardiac output and heart rate can be increased, but it does not cause orthostatic hypotension. It is clinically used for the treatment of refractory hypertension and renal hypertension. It can also be used for severe hypertension with poor effect on other antihypertensive drugs, but it needs to be combined with diuretics to avoid water and sodium retention. Combined with β-receptor blockers can increase the efficacy and reduce adverse reactions.
