In environmental research, the compound undergoes complete degradation under both aerobic and anaerobic conditions, with a UV/chlorine process achieving up to 91% removal when chlorine is added in divided doses at 10-minute intervals. This agent is also employed in metabolic studies, where it is converted to hippuric acid through an aromatization pathway, and in peptide chemistry as a constrained building block for hybrid β/γ peptides. |
