At low concentrations (1 nM), co-applied with galanin (10 nM), it reverses galanin's inhibitory effect, while at higher concentrations (15 and 30 nM), it functions as a galanin receptor agonist, inhibiting cAMP production. These effects are not additive, reflecting its mixed agonist/antagonist properties due to its chimeric nature acting solely at galanin receptors[1]. |
