Magnesium  Aluminum  Silicate  USP  NF  Grade.

Magnesium  Aluminum  Silicate  is  a  blend  of  colloidal  montmorillonite  and  saponite  that  has

been  processed  to  remove  grit  and  non-swellable  ore  components.

The requirements for viscosity and ratio of aluminum content to magnesium content differ for  the 

 several  types  of  Magnesium  Aluminum  Silicate,as  set  forth  in  the  accompanying  table.

Magnesium  Aluminum   Silicate   products   are   naturally   occurring   water-washed   smectite   clays used 

worldwide to stabilize emulsions and suspensions and to thicken a wide  range of products.

It  can  dispersed  in  water  with  good  thixotropy  and  stability.It's  rather  compatible  with  alcohols and  

high-ploarity  solvents  such  as  glycerol  and  sorbite.when  put  in  water  in  can  dispersed quickly  and

A.Pharmaceutical Industries:

In  pharmaceutical  industry,magnesium  aluminum  silicate  is  mainly  used  as:

Pharmaceutical adjuvant Emulsifier, Filters, Adhesives, Adsorbent, Thixotropic agent, Thickener, 

Suspending agent, Binder, Disintegrating agent, Medicine carrier, Drug stabilizer, etc.

B.Cosmetics&Personal care Industries:

Acting as the Thixotropic agent, Suspension agent, Stabilizer, Thickening agent and Emulsifier.

Usage:

HATORITE R clay  is a  useful,economical grade for a wide  range of applications:pharmaceutical,cosmetic,

personal  care, veterinary, agricultural, household and industrial  products. Typical use levels are between0.5%and   3.0%.

HATORITE F, a micronized powder, is indicated for use where a dry material is required. It is used primarily

in pressed powders and in direct compression tablets. Typical use levels are between 1%and 5%.

HATORITE HV clay is indicated where high viscosity at low solids is desired. Excellent emulsion and 

suspension stabilization is obtained at low use levels. It is used primarily in cosmetics(e.g., pigmentsuspension in mascaras and eye shadow creams)and pharmaceuticals. Typical use levels are between 0.5%

and 3%.

HATORITE K clay is used in pharmaceutical oral suspensions at acid pH and in hair care formulas containing.

conditioning ingredients. It has low acid demand and high acid and electrolyte compatibility. It is used toprovide good suspension at low viscosity. Typical use levels are between 0.5%and 3%.

HATORITE HS clay was developed for maximum electrolyte stability and minimum acid demand. In cosmetics 

it is the preferred grade for hair and face masks. Typical use levels are between 1%and 3%.
