| In vitro | L-Moprolol is the l-enantiomer of a beta-blocker with low negative inotropic activity and mild intrinsic sympathomimetic activity, effectively utilized in systemic hypertension studies. Topical administration of l-Moprolol in primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG) or ocular hypertension (OHT) models has been shown to lower intraocular pressure (IOP) as effectively as timolol. Due to its lack of activity on bronchial muscles, it has become a promising compound for the inhibition of glaucoma [3]. |
