The Fe(II)-N4Py complex catalyzes the generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS), leading to oxidative DNA damage and strand breaks. Due to its ability to induce oxidative stress and DNA damage, the N4Py system is widely used in studies of anticancer mechanisms. |
