Description:
Octadecylamine (CAS 124-30-1) is a long-chain aliphatic primary amine with the molecular formula C??H??N, typically appearing as a white to off-white waxy solid or crystalline flake at room temperature, and it becomes liquid when heated above its melting point of around 53 °C. It is commercially available in different purity grades ranging from industrial grades (around 90%–95%) to high-purity reagent grades (98%–99%).
Application:
It is widely used as a key raw material for producing cationic surfactants, fabric softeners, and antistatic agents in the textile industry, and also serves as an effective ore flotation agent, fertilizer anti-caking agent, and corrosion inhibitor in industrial water treatment. Additionally, it acts as an important intermediate in organic synthesis for manufacturing emulsifiers, lubricants, and other chemical products.
