Spermidine is a naturally occurring triamine and polyamine metabolite. CAS 124-20-9 identifies the free-base form with formula C7H19N3 and molecular weight 145.25 g/mol. It is used in analytical and formulation development, polyamine research and ingredient screening where the free base, rather than a hydrochloride salt, is the required chemical form.

Free base or salt

The free base is relevant to studies that calculate spermidine on a free-base basis or need a liquid material for dilution and analytical preparation.
