Ticarcillin disodium is a semi-synthetic penicillin, milky white amorphous powder with hygroscopicity. It is easily soluble in water (>100g/100m1), and the Ph value of the obtained clear solution is 6.0-8.0. Aqueous solutions are relatively stable; acidic solutions are relatively unstable. It is highly effective against Pseudomonas aeruginosa, 2 to 4 times stronger than carbenicillin. The β-lactamases produced by clinically isolated product-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa are stable, but are susceptible to destruction by β-lactamases produced by Escherichia coli, Proteus mirabilis, and individual strains of Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
