Spadin is a potent inhibitor peptide, which is a secreted peptide. Spadin is a precursor peptide generated by freely maturing NTSR3/Sortilin, with a sequence containing 18 amino acids. Research has shown that spadin exhibits resistance to depression in mice. In the experiment, continuous administration of spadin to mice for four days not only showed strong antidepressant effects, but also promoted the phosphorylation of hippocampal CREB protein and nervous system development.
