Mirvetuximab soravtansine (brand name Elahere®) is an antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) consisting of a humanized anti‑folate receptor alpha (FRα) monoclonal antibody linked to the cytotoxic maytansinoid payload DM4 via a cleavable disulfide linker. FRα is overexpressed on many epithelial ovarian cancer cells. Upon binding to FRα, the ADC is internalized, and the linker is cleaved intracellularly to release DM4, a potent microtubule‑disrupting agent that inhibits mitosis and induces apoptosis. It is approved for the treatment of FRα‑positive, platinum‑resistant epithelial ovarian, fallopian tube, or primary peritoneal cancer in adults who have received 1–3 prior systemic therapies.
