Ammonium carboxymethylcellulose (CMC-NH4) is a non-ionic cellulose obtained through a series of chemical processing using natural polymer material-cellulose as raw material. It is a white powder that is odorless, tasteless, and non-toxic, capable of dissolving in cold water to form a transparent, viscous solution.
It possesses functions such as thickening,adhesion,dispersion,emulsification,film-forming,suspension, adsorption, gelation, and surface activity; it is widely used in the production processes of honeycomb ceramics, lithium-ion batteries, supercapacitors, electronic packaging, etc., to improve product yield. Its structure is C6H7O2(OH)2OCH2COONH4 and its molecular formula is C8H15O7N.
Ammonium carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC-NH4) is a specialty adhesive primarily used in high-quality SCR denitration catalysts. It addresses the issue of alkali metal-induced deactivation in conventional CMC, which can damage the structure and active sites of SCR catalysts. By using CMC-NH4, the performance and service life of SCR catalysts are significantly improved, thereby enhancing their market competitiveness.
Compared to traditional CMC, CMC-NH4 offers stronger cohesion and less residual ash after roasting. Currently, China's denitration industry fully relies on imported CMC-NH4 due to the lack of domestic production capabilities.
