Description

α-Pinene is a chemical constituent of essential oil extracted from the stem of Canarium tramdenanum. It is used as standard in headspace solid-phase microextraction-gas chromatographic analysis of volatile compounds in virgin olive oils. It was used in the synthesis of cesium-doped heteropolyacid having potential application in biodiesel synthesis.
