4,5,6,7-Tetrahydrofuro[3,2-c]pyridine (425 mg, 3.45 mmol) was dissolved in dichloromethane (10 mL) and cooled to 0 °C. Di tert-butyl dicarbonate (753 mg, 3.45 mmol) was added and the mixture stirred, allowing warming to room temperature over 16 hours. The reaction mixture was concentrated to give the title compound 801 mg (quantitative yield) as an orange syrup. 5H NMR (500 MHz, chloroform) 7.29 (s, 1H), 6.23 (d, J = 1.6 Hz, 1H), 4.34 (s, 2H), 3.72 (s, 2H), 2.69 (s, 2H), 1.48 (s, 9H). Tr(METCR1278) = 1.99 min, (ES+) (M-Boc+H)+ 124.
