23.1 1. Preparation of compound 2.
To a solution of compound 1(30.00 g, 197.85 mmol) in DCM (300.00 mL) was added TEA (60.06 g, 593.55 mmol) and di-tert-butyl dicarbonate (43.18 g, 197.85 mmol). The mixture was stirred at 25 °C for 12 hr. TLC showed the reaction was completed. The resulting mixture was washed with water (300 mL*2), and brine (200 mL). The organic layer was dried over anhydrous MgSO4, filtered, and concentrated to afford the product as a white solid. The crude product Compound 2 was used into the next step without further purification (40.00 g, crude). TLC (Petroleum ether: Ethyl acetate = 2:1) Rf = 0.70.
