5-Amino-l-ter/-butyl-3-(4-fluoro-phenyl)-lH-pyrazole-4-carbonitrile (0.82 g, 3.16 mmol) was mixed with formamide (5 ml) and the mixture heated at 180° C under a nitrogen atmosphere for 3 hr. Upon cooling, the product separated as crystalline material which was separated by filtration, washed with water and dried to afford the title compound (0.73 g, 81.1 %); LC/MS, API-ES, Pos, (M+H)+, 286.1.
