In a dry and clean reaction bottle, add 20 g of 2-acetylamino-2- (4-phenyl benzyl) malonic acid. Add 100 ml of xylene and maintain at reflux temperature for 3 hours. Test for completion of reaction with HPLC. Cool down to room temperature and vacuum filtrate it. Dry in an oven at 90 to 100 deg C and normal pressure. After drying, obtain 15.6 g of 2- acetylamino-3-biphenyl propanoic acid. Yield ratio: 90.2%.
