Synthesis of N-oxides (AO-12, AO-18, MO, MO-12):

General procedure: N-oxides can besynthesizedwith different procedures [47,48]. In thiswork,we useda simple and cheap procedure based on the use of hydrogen peroxide:the corresponding amine was put at 65-70 °C in EtOH with 1.5equivalents of H2O2. After 6 h MnO2 was added to destroy H2O2 excess,the liquidwas filtered and the solventwas removed under vacuum.The resulting semi-solids were recrystallized twice in acetone/Et2Omixtures.
