Chemical Properties

Brownish-yellow needle-like crystals. Melting point 269-270 (274°C). Soluble in ether, dilute alkaline solution and sulfuric acid, with yellow and blue fluorescence. Insoluble in water.

Uses

1,8-NAPHTHALIC ACID is used as an intermediate in dye pesticides.
