REACTIVE VIOLET 5 Chemical Properties, Uses, Production

Chemical Properties

Purple-brown powder. Solubility in water (50℃) is 100g/L. The aqueous solution is reddish purple, add 1mol/L sodium hydroxide solution is still reddish purple, then add the insurance powder and warm up to be colorless, then add the sodium perborate can not be restored to the original color. It is bluish red in concentrated sulfuric acid, and rose red after dilution. Orange-red in concentrated nitric acid, light reddish brown after dilution.

Uses

Reactive Violet 5 is an azo textile dye used in the textile and fabrics and paper-printing industries.

Preparation

2-(4-Aminophenylsulfonyl)ethyl hydrogen sulfate diazo, and 4-Aminonaphthalene-1-sulfonic acid coupling, and copper sulfate, sodium acetate and hydrogen peroxide oxidation, complex, then salting-out.

Properties and Applications

purple. Purple, brown powder, soluble in water. Used for cotton, silk and linen dyeing and printing, also suitable for discharge printing.
