15-KETO PROSTAGLANDIN F1ALPHA Chemical Properties,Uses,Production

Description

15-keto PGF is the initial metabolite of PGF via 15-hydroxy PGDH. In mammals, oxidation of C-15 markedly attenuates receptor binding and activity. In fish, the 15-keto compounds serve as post-ovulatory pheromones and are more active than the parent prostaglandins.

Uses

15-keto Prostaglandin F1α (15-keto PGF1α) is a prostaglandin F1α metabolite. 15-keto Prostaglandin F1α (15-keto PGF1α) is an effective substrate for PGR-2. 15-keto Prostaglandin F1α (15-keto PGF1α) can be used to study physiological processes such as prostaglandin metabolism and lipogenesis[1].
