Uses
SUN-B 8155 is a pyridone derivative and a selective calcitonin receptor agonist (1). SUN-B 8155 has been shown to lower serum calcium levels in rats.
Biological Activity
Non-peptide calcitonin (CT) receptor agonist that fully stimulates cAMP production in CHO/hCTR cells (EC 50 = 21 μ M). Causes a significant reduction in serum calcium concentrations in vivo following i.p. administration.

SUN B8155 (100 mg/kg; i.p.) results in a significant reduction of serum calcium concentration by approximately 9% at 30 min after administration. Human CT also reduces serum calcium in a dose-dependent manner at 30 min (0.1 and 0.3 μg/kg) and 60 min (0.3 μg/kg) after administration[1].
