Uses
Vinyl chloride carbonate is mainly used in the preparation of fluoroethylene carbonate and vinylene carbonate in lithium-ion battery electrolytes. High-purity vinyl chloride carbonate can also be used directly as a flame retardant additive in lithium-ion battery electrolytes to improve the cycle performance and extend the service life of lithium-ion battery electrolytes.
Application
Vinylene carbonate (VC) is an important additive material in lithium-ion battery electrolytes, forming a dense and stable organic film on the battery surface. This organic film, without sacrificing conductivity or increasing internal resistance, produces polyalkyl lithium carbonate compounds. These compounds effectively inhibit the insertion of solvent molecules and solvated lithium ions into graphite, reducing electrolyte decomposition, improving the stability of the graphite anode, and thus enhancing the charge-discharge performance of lithium-ion batteries. The lithium-ion battery industry requires high-purity VC. VC is a colorless and transparent liquid, an organic synthesis intermediate, and an additive in lithium-ion battery electrolytes. It significantly extends the cycle life of lithium-ion batteries and is a non-aqueous electrolyte solvent.
