Reported found in geranium essential oil.

By esterification of rhodinol, as for geraniol and linalool.

Metabolism
Open-chain olefinic terpene esters are presumably hydrolysed to the alcohol and the acid (Fassett, 1963). In the rabbit, the open-chain terpenes undergo ω-oxidation (Williams, 1959).
