Description
Neomycin solution is a reagent that has been sterile-filtered and made suitable for cell culture. This product is recommended for use in cell culture applications at 5 mL/L. It can be used as a selection agent for prokaryotic cells transformed using the neo selectable marker gene. Also, it is useful for studying ototoxic side effects of antibiotics, platelet-derived growth factor responses in certain fibroblasts, and extraction of Nuclear Phosphatidylinositol 4,5-Bisphosphate-Interacting Proteins. Neomycin’s mechanism of action is to bind to the 30S and 50S subunits, causing miscoding and inhibiting initiation and elongation during protein synthesis. It also blocks voltage-sensitive Ca2+ channels without affecting the Na+/Ca2+ antiporter in neurons. It affects both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.More related product prices
