Chemical PropertiesThe pure product is a colorless crystalline solid. MP 95-96.4°C, vapor pressure 7.5×10-6 Pa (20°C). Solubility at 20°C: >200 g/kg in dichloromethane, 100-200 g/kg in toluene, 100-200 g/kg in isopropanol, 2.5 g/L in hexane, and 0.3 mg/L in water. Partition coefficient 120.
UsesHerbicide.
Production MethodsThe commercial production process of ethiozin is not described in open literature. However, based on its structure and approaches used for other triazinone herbicides, its preparation would have focused on preparation of the substituted triazinone core, controlled alkylation to introduce the ethyl substituent, and purification to technical grade before formulation.
