Description

Biotin-PEG2-alkyne is a click chemistry biotinylation tool. This reagent allows the labeling of azide-containing molecules with biotin via copper-catalyzed click reaction. Biotin-labeled biomolecules can be bound to avidin or streptavidin for further purification and detection.


This structure of biotin alkyne features a hydrophilic PEG2 linker that separates biotin residue from the target molecule for efficient binding with streptavidin. Its linker also enhances aqueous solubility to facilitate conjugation.

UsesBiotin-PEG2-alkyne is a short PEG linker featuring a biotin group and a terminal alkyne. Biotin is useful for affinity-based applications such as pull-down assays while terminal alkynes are used in copper (I) click chemistry with azides.
