| Chemical Properties | Clear colorless to yellow liquid | | Synthesis | General procedure for the synthesis of ethyl o-fluorobenzoate from o-fluoroiodobenzene and potassium 2-ethoxy-2-oxoacetate: Palladium catalyst (1 mol%) and potassium 2-ethoxy-2-oxoacetate (0.75 mmol) were added to an oven-dried Schlenk tube (10 mL). The Schlenk tube was evacuated and backfilled with argon (this process was repeated three times). Subsequently, o-fluoroiodobenzene (0.5 mmol) and N-methylpyrrolidone (NMP, 1.0 mL) were added via syringe at room temperature under argon protection. After sealing the reaction vessel, it was placed in a preheated oil bath and reacted under stirring for 24 hours.
