Chemical Properties7,70 -Iminobis(4-hydroxynaphthalene-2-sulfonic acid) [87-03-6] J acid imide, di-J acid, is produced by heating the sodium salt of J acid in aqueous sodium bisulfite at 106℃ for 36 h (yield 89 %). It is used to produce C.I. Direct Reds 31 and 149, as well as C.I. Direct Violets 48, 66, and 102.
UsesRhoduline acid is an acidic compound that can be used for the synthesis of azo dyes[1].
