| ethaverine hydrochloride Usage And Synthesis |
Uses | Ethaverine hydrochloride, a derivative of papaverine, inhibits cardiac L-type calcium channel. Ethaverine hydrochloride is a peripheral vasodilator and antispasmodic agent. Ethaverine hydrochloride can be used for research of peripheral vascular disease[1][2][3]. | Safety Profile | Poison by intravenous route. Moderately toxic by subcutaneous route. When heated to decomposition it emits toxic vapors of NOx, HCl, and Clí | in vivo | Ethaverine hydrochloride (2-10 mg/kg, intravenous infusion, i.v.) causes significant elevation of endocochlear potential in guinea pigs[4].
Ethaverine (1-10 mg/kg, i.v.) inhibits atrioventricular conduction and heart rate in the anaesthetized dog[5].
Animal Model: | Dog[5] | Dosage: | 1 and 10 mg/kg | Administration: | i.v. | Result: | Inhibited atrioventricular conduction and heart rate. |
