| Application | 9-phenyl-3,3’-bicarbazolyl is the intermediate to synthesis electronic materials, such as OLED.9-phenyl-3,3’-bicarbazolyl is a kind of organic electroluminescent materials to make OLED display screen, and this intermediate can be used in OLED series, such as Thiophene series, Fluorene series, Boronic Acid series and so on.
| | Synthesis | A mixture of (9-phenyl-9H-carbazol-3-yl)boronic acid (14.2 g,49.5 mmol), 3-bromo-9H-carbazole (11.1 g, 45.0 mmol), Pd(PPh3)4(1.05 g, 0.9 mmol), K2CO3 (2.0 M aqueous solution, 80 mL), toluene(160 mL) and ethanol (80 mL) were stirred under nitrogen at 100 °Cfor 12 h. Until the reaction cooled to room temperature, the grey powder was filtered from the solution and was recrystallized by ethanol to afford 9-Phenyl-3,3'-bicarbazolyl (15.1 g, yield: 82 percent).
