| | 4-Methyl-1,3-dioxolane Usage And Synthesis |
| Synthesis | 3-(2-nitrophenyl)-2,4-dioxa-bicyclo[3.3.1]nonane (1 mmol) was dissolved in a NaOH methanol solution (250 mg NaOH, 50 mL). The solution was purged with argon for 15 min. The solution was irradiated with a 125-W Hg medium-pressure UV lamp through a Pyrex filter for several hours (TLC). The solvent was removed under reduced pressure to give the title compound 4-METHYL-1,3-DIOXOLANE. Figure 4-METHYL-1,3-DIOXOLANE | | Uses | 4-Methyl-1,3-dioxolane performs an inhibitory effects on monooxygenase activities in vitro with nasal and hepatic microsomes from rats and rabbits. Performs an anticholinergic function and other pharmaceutical activities. |
