A slurry of 2-(2-(-2-chloroethoxy)ethoxy)ethanol (25.Og, 148 mmol) and sodiumazide (14.5g, 222mmol) in dimethylformamide (250ml) was standing at 100 0C over night. The reaction mixture was cooled on an ice bath, filtered and the organic solvent was evaporated in vacuo.
