Stage #2: with hydrogenchloride in methanol;lithium hydroxide monohydrate at 50 - 60; for 6 h;Inert atmosphere;

In a 100ml reaction flask, under a nitrogen atmosphere, add 30ml of methanol, (E)-1-(4-methoxy-2,3,6-trimethylphenyl)-3-methyl-1,4- 2.46g (0.01mol) of pentadien-3-ol, after stirring and dissolving, add 2.62g of triphenylphosphine, continue stirring for 30 minutes, add dropwise a mixed solution of 1.5ml of concentrated hydrochloric acid and 15ml of methanol, after the dropwise addition, The reaction solution was heated to 50°C-60°C and reacted for 6 hours, then the reaction solution was concentrated under pressure to obtain a viscous substance, and 30 ml of n-hexane was added and cooled to -20°C for crystallization to obtain (2E,4E)-5-(4- Methoxy-2,3,6-trimethylphenyl)-3-methyl-2,4-pentadiene-1-triphenylphosphine chloride 3.1 g, yield 58.8%, purity 98.7%.
