General procedure: A mixture of 2-oxoacids 2/2-oxoaldehydes 3/2-oxoesters 4 (0.5mmol), oxone (1.25mmol) and alcohol (1.5mL) in round bottomed flask was stirred at 65°C. After completion of the reaction that was confirmed by thin layer chromatography, the crude mixture was cooled to room temperature, filtered and purified by column chromatography using silica gel (100-200 ) with ethyl acetate and hexane as an eluent to afford the desired product 5 in 70-99 % yields.
