There are two methods for synthesizing 6-Methoxy-1H-indole-3-carboxylic acid compounds. The first method involves preparing 6-methoxy-indole-3-carboxaldehyde from 6-methoxy-indole via a Vilsmeier-Hacck reaction, followed by oxidation of the aldehyde group with potassium permanganate to obtain 6-Methoxy-1H-indole-3-carboxylic acid. The second method involves hydrolyzing 6-methoxy-indole-3-carboxynitrile. This method mainly involves three steps: first, preparing 6-methoxy-indole-3-carboxaldehyde from 6-methoxy-indole via a Vilsmeier-Hacck reaction; then, reacting 6-methoxy-indole-3-carboxaldehyde with hydroxylamine hydrochloride in a one-step process to synthesize 6-methoxy-indole-3-carboxynitrile, which is then hydrolyzed to obtain 6-Methoxy-1H-indole-3-carboxylic acid.
