Uses
Mammalian LHRHa containing Supergestran was used to stimulate the spermiation of tench males. Half dose of lecirelin was almost equally effective to induce the disappearance of the dominant follicle at Day 6 to 7 of the estrous cycle in three GnRH analogs of cattle.
Definition
Lecirelin, a synthetic gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) analog, acts as a GnRH agonist. Lecirelin is widely used for the research of bovine ovarian follicular cysts. lecithin and buserelin, two nonapeptides, are used as the acetate. Lecirelin differs by substitution of D-tertiary leucine for glycine at position 6 and the replacement of glycine by ethylamide at position 10. Buserelin has a D-serine at position 6 and ethylamide at position 10.

Lecirelin (2.07 μM) significantly increases the tension and frequency of contractions in preovulatory follicles (PF), small follicular cysts (FC-S), and large follicular cysts (FC-L). Lecirelin increases the strips from preovulatory follicles contract significantly more than strips from cysts.
