Add 474g of perfluorohexylethyl iodine (C6F13CH2CH2I), 2370g of mixed solvent (1896g of NMP, 474g of DMSO), and 108g of water to a 5L glass reaction flask equipped with a condenser, magnetic stirrer, and thermometer.

Stirring was started, and the temperature was raised to 160℃. The reaction was allowed to proceed for 18 hours. Gas chromatography analysis revealed the presence of 1.8% perfluorohexylethyl iodine. The reaction was then stopped, and distillation yielded 1H,1H,2H,2H-PERFLUORO-1-OCTANOL, specifically 3,3,4,4,5,5,6,6,7,7,8,8,8-tridecylfluoro-1-octanol, with a conversion rate of 99.3%, a yield of 96.0%, and a gas chromatographic purity of 99.4%.
