| | 1H,1H,2H,2H-Perfluoro-1-octanol Usage And Synthesis |
| Synthesis |
Add 474g of perfluorohexylethyl iodine (C6F13CH2CH2I), 2370g of mixed solvent (1896g of NMP, 474g of DMSO), and 108g of water to a 5L glass reaction flask equipped with a condenser, magnetic stirrer, and thermometer. Stirring was started, and the temperature was raised to 160℃. The reaction was allowed to proceed for 18 hours. Gas chromatography analysis revealed the presence of 1.8% perfluorohexylethyl iodine. The reaction was then stopped, and distillation yielded 1H,1H,2H,2H-PERFLUORO-1-OCTANOL, specifically 3,3,4,4,5,5,6,6,7,7,8,8,8-tridecylfluoro-1-octanol, with a conversion rate of 99.3%, a yield of 96.0%, and a gas chromatographic purity of 99.4%. | | Chemical Properties | CLEAR COLOURLESS LIQUID | | Uses | 1H,1H,2H,2H-Perfluoro-1-octanol is a material used to improve nanotube composites. It is also used in the synthesis of a recyclable fluorous hydrazine carbothioate compound with NCS to catalyz e the acetalization of aldehydes. | | Uses | 1H,1H, 2H, 2H-Tridecafluoro-1-n-octanol is a material used to improve nanotube composites.
