It has a long duration of action as patients are generally given 1 daily dose. The therapeutic index is wide, as high doses are generally well tolerated. Patients should be counselled regarding the risk of postural hypotension, effects of myocardial contractility, hypokalemia, hypomagnesemia, and hypoglycemia. |
